In the last five months, I've spent my time contemplating training, mentally preparing myself to stay motivated but just couldn't get focused. It made me discouraged for awhile, but during the "TIME OF YOUR LIFE" staff retreat was that life it too short. You have to seize the day, not wasting any moment of your time. Taking this encouragement, I have set up my goals before China. The first of which is to take a trip to the middle or south of Thailand in February. I think this will shake me up from my familiar climbing routes and prepare me for the challenging new routes that China has to offer.

During the mean time I invited P' Josh to climb at Anxiety State Crisis. The first pitch is about a 5.11b and the second pitch about a 5.11d. It had been nearly two years since I had a go at the first pitch with P'Muad, and was excited to shoot for the second. We warmed up at Crazy Horse and were ready to attack this piece of limestone. There are two ways to get to this wild route, the first being a bamboo covered cave entrance and the second a 60m rappel from Gate Keeper Buttress. Yet before any climbing could begin we checked out the beehive that was positioned ever so close to the second route. P'Josh and I decided it wouldn't be a hindrance and prepared to rappel down to the first pitch at the anchor. P'Josh rappelled first and encouraged me to lead on these two routes, increasing my multi-pitch climbing skills. The last time I climbed this route I got caught on the 11th bolt. There is one very difficult tufa hold from which to reach your next move. I found out if you climb too high it can get you in trouble, so you best stay low instead. After about three minutes, I decided if I couldn't go on I should just fall yet I passed the crux and continued to the anchor. Route one was pumpy but I was ready for the next. Pitch two was all new to me but I was ready to tackle this onsight style and found it way easier then the first pitch.
